The barn has its own enclosed garden which backs on to a quarter
acre of lawn - large enough for energetic games. The barn garden
contains its own 'henge' constructed from granite hewn for the
farm's gates hundreds of years ago. The owners have dug ponds and
planted hundreds of trees and native hedges to attract wild life. A
productive vegetable garden, soft fruit garden and orchard have been
established. An owl box has been built over the front door to try to
attract one of the barn owls that can be seen hunting on Bodmin Moor
at dusk. Slits are built into the roof slates to give extra shelter
to the bats that can be seen swooping around the eves at dusk. But
best of all, so our visitors always tell us, is the peace and quiet.
